Lab Medical AidePort Jefferson, NYNew York Cancer and Blood Specialists (NYCBS), a prominent and respected Oncology/Hematology group, is seeking a LabMedical Aide to join a well-established and growing pure sub-specialty practice with academic affiliation.
Practice manages a freestanding outpatient Cancer Center with extensive chemotherapy administration, Radiation Oncology, Pharmacy and Research department.
In this role you will:
Have knowledge of basic laboratory procedures and practices.
Operate and maintain centrifuges and processing equipment authorized within the Laboratory Services Department.
Focus on safety and quality assurance procedures with ability to function within or above regulatory agency requirements.
Perform multiple tasks such as; accessioning, restocking of laboratory supplies, disposal of biohazard waste, pending logs, scanning records and maintenance of laboratory work flow.
Exhibit timer management skills.
Interact in a positive manner with supervisors, manager and coworkers.
Exhibit a high energy level, comfortability performing multifaceted activities.
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; resourceful and organized.
Assume other duties as assigned by management.
Understand and observes all confidentiality and HIPAA provisions.
Navigate and perform required tasks on Labdaq and Onco EMR.
Recognize and convey to management any departmental improvements necessary.
We require:
High School Diploma at least 1 year of experience in laboratory operations, preferred.
Bi/Lingual, English/Spanish speaking preferred Proficiency in Word/Excel Hours:
Monday-Friday and alternating SaturdaysSalary up to $22 per hour.
